The Pharma Logistics Winter University in Abu Dhabi is a one-week intensive training for young talents looking for a career path in pharmaceutical logistics. The highly interactive program of courses, workshops and industry visits is designed for management trainees and Master’s students as a valuable opportunity to dive into this fast-growing field and learn about global supply chains, cold chain management, and the latest industry innovations.

During the 5-day immersive program, you will learn to identify and address the challenges of managing pharmaceutical products, optimize logistics networks for timely and safe deliveries, and develop strategies to mitigate risks.

You will assess best practices, and analyze both successful and unsuccessful case studies to extract key lessons. You will get the opportunity to evaluate the latest innovations and technological advancements shaping the future of pharma logistics.

The program is designed for young talents from diverse fields such as Supply Chain, Air, Road and Maritime Transportation, Business, and Pharmacy. Also, students with a business or economics background can join.

MICRO-CREDENTIAL AND STUDY CREDITS (ECTS)

3 ECTS credits are awarded upon successful completion of the programme. To include the credits in the curriculum at the home institution, participants need an agreement with the responsible person at their university. A certificate will be awarded at the end of the programme. All certificates of completion are issued as a micro-credential.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

Identify and understand the unique challenges in managing pharmaceutical and vaccine products within the logistics sector.

Identify ways to optimize logistics networks to ensure the timely and safe delivery of pharmaceutical products.

Assess potential risks in pharma logistics and develop strategies to mitigate them.

Explain the crucial role of cold chain management in pharma logistics and identify best practices.

Analyse successful and unsuccessful case studies to extract key lessons in pharma logistics.

Evaluate innovations and technological advancements shaping the future of pharma logistics.

Strategise how companies in the UAE can leverage regional clusters and partnerships to boost their pharma logistics capabilities.

TUITION FEES

Industry Participants (management trainees, junior managers, etc.): €1750
Etihad Trainees: €800
Students: €650/ UAntwerp students: €500

The tuition fee includes the courses, company visits, welcome reception, and the gala dinner.
It does not include daily lunches and dinners, travel and accommodation.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Accommodation

We have partnered with the Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi Hotel (5★) to offer high-quality,
affordable accommodation.

A booking link (to be provided) will allow you to reserve a double or triple room
directly on the hotel’s website at a discounted rate.
We encourage participants to share rooms to reduce costs; a twin room typically costs
about €80 per person per night. If you would like help finding a roommate,
please contact the organizers to facilitate a match.

Meals

The hotel booking includes breakfast.
Other meals need to be arranged by participants, individually.

An optional dinner add-on will be available with the hotel during booking
for about €20/person/night, which we can highly recommend.
Lunch can be arranged, by each participant, as Khalifa University’s food court offers a wide range of tasty, budget-friendly options.

Flights are also not included and are at your own expense.
