VACSCENE – ISSUE 5 – DECEMBER 2021

While this fifth edition of the VACscene newsletter is published, the world is being challenged with the new Omicron Covid-19 variant. Currently, 3.2 billion people have been fully vaccinated and 4.2 billion have received at least 1 dose. The challenge remains to deliver the COVID-19 vaccines into hard-to-reach countries and remote regions of the world such as Sub-Saharan Africa, where vaccination coverage is still below 20% of the total population. Effective COVID-19 vaccine production and supply chain movements will continue to be vital in 2022, and vaccine shipments will continue to be a very important part of the pharma airfreight industry.
