Pharma.Aero launched GAPL 2, the second phase of its Green Air Pharma Logistics initiative, to improve the sustainability of tertiary packaging used in transporting temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals. Building on GAPL 1, which introduced the Lane Sustainability Readiness Index (LSRI), this phase focused on developing a comprehensive assessment framework through collaboration with over 160 stakeholders. The framework evaluates packaging solutions based on environmental criteria like carbon footprint, water use, reusability, and recyclability, and integrates with the LSRI to guide industry decisions. GAPL 2 emphasizes that sustainable packaging is a shared responsibility and a critical step toward reducing emissions and advancing circular, climate-conscious logistics.

Key Highlights
