The publication brings together the full methodology, consolidated findings, and key insights developed through surveys, stakeholder interviews, and technology landscape mapping.

This in-depth report offers a detailed analysis of current IoT practices, operational challenges, and emerging opportunities in temperature-sensitive healthcare logistics. Members will find practical guidance for enhancing visibility, improving data integrity, and accelerating digital transformation through IoT-enabled solutions.
Next Phase: Training Sessions for Member Organisations
With this phase now completed, the IoT project will continue with dedicated training sessions—a new Pharma.Aero initiative aimed at supporting industry adoption of IoT solutions. Members are invited to learn more during the IoT Webinar on December 4th, for an introduction to the next steps.
In parallel, a public white paper will follow to share overarching insights with the wider industry.
Project Context and Impact
The IoT Project was designed to address the industry’s growing need for smarter, more resilient pharmaceutical supply chains by advancing the use of next-generation IoT and AI technologies. Building on the earlier Innovation in Motion initiative—which explored the applicability of AI, IoT, blockchain, and big-data analytics across end-to-end life science and MedTech logistics—the IoT Devices & Platforms Project took a deeper dive into IoT-enabled visibility solutions. Its goal was to identify how connected devices and intelligent platforms could deliver predictive insights, strengthen risk management, reduce operational costs, and support more sustainable, transparent, and adaptive healthcare logistics. Through this work, the project remained closely aligned with industry expectations for efficiency, integrity, and future-ready digital capabilities.
