Following the recent General Assembly, a new leadership structure has been confirmed for the 2026–2028 mandate. Gergely Szorcsik of Zoetis has been elected Chair. He is Director, Global Logistics Sourcing & Sustainability at Zoetis and has served on the Board of Directors for the past three years.
For the first time since the organisation’s creation in 2016, the Chair position is held by a pharmaceutical company, reflecting the diversity of perspectives represented within a cross-industry leadership model that brings together manufacturers, logistics providers, and infrastructure partners across the global life sciences supply chain.
The Board of Directors has been further strengthened with the addition of Robert Carson of Edmonton International Airport (YEG) and Dimitrios Jimmy Nares of Miami International Airport. Dimitrios Jimmy Nares is recognised as a long-standing contributor and part of the organisation’s early foundation.
Continuity is ensured through the re-election of Board members, including Zhong Yao Liew, representing Lim Ching Kiat of Changi Airport Group (Vice Chair), Dimitri Bettoni of Brussels Airport (Treasurer), Bruno Guella of LACC – Latin America Cargo City, and Ruud van der Geer of MSD.
I’m honored to lead Pharma.Aero and thank outgoing Chairman Trevor Caswell for steering our significant growth. My priorities are strengthening global quality and visibility, expanding education and training, and extending our partnership with the University of Antwerp. By accelerating best-practice adoption and fostering cross-industry collaboration, we will translate innovation into reliable, sustainable solutions for the pharmaceutical industry worldwide.
Over the past four years, the Chair role has been held by Trevor Caswell of Edmonton International Airport who served for two consecutive mandates.
Serving as Chair of Pharma.Aero over the past years has been a rewarding experience. I am proud of what we have achieved together as a community — strengthening collaboration, advancing key industry initiatives, and delivering tangible value to our members. I look forward to continuing to support the organisation and its future development.
Founded in 2016 at the initiative of Brussels Airport, and Miami International Airport, Pharma.Aero has expanded over the past decade into a broader cross-industry organisation, where pharmaceutical manufacturers now play an active role in governance alongside airports in their capacity as strategic members.
